Secondments to the Pension Protection Fund

Interested in helping provide security in retirement for thousands of people? If so, a secondment to the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) might just be the answer.

We offer flexible secondments in all areas of our work including legal, actuarial, insolvency and financial risk. They can last anything from three months to two years, be full time or part time, and can benefit all parties. For more information, please email careers@ppf.gsi.gov.uk

Benefits to you

You can learn more about how the PPF operates and the role it plays in the wider pensions landscape. This will provide a valuable addition to your cv and help your individual career development.

Benefits to your employer

When you return to your employer, they will benefit from your knowledge about the PPF. They will have a better understanding how the PPF may have an impact on themselves, or on their clients and customers.

Benefits to the PPF

We also benefit through having people with a wide range of experience and skills from both private and public sectors working with our permanent staff. This enhances our understanding of how the pensions, and wider financial, world works and contributes towards the continual improvement of PPF operations.

What will a secondment mean for you?

Anyone who is seconded to the PPF will stay on their employer’s own terms and conditions.

We want to make sure that we have the best people for the job so secondees may be asked to take part in an interview and assessment test.

We will fund any additional travels costs to our offices in East Croydon as well as all reasonable expenses while you carry out PPF business.

What will the PPF do?

We will

  • provide the necessary induction into the organisation as well as any further technical training needed
  • agree a set of objectives, in conjunction with specific learning and development aims
  • provide continual monitoring and guidance and review performance against your objectives
  • liaise with your employer to ensure that all parties are happy with the secondment, and
  • talk to the employer if any problems arise.
